Morai Lamps

The Ottoman Empire adapted the Venetian filigree glass technique during the Sultan Selim the Third (circa 18th century) and translated the technique into Çeşm-i Bülbül glassware which had a typical style in white and blue stripes. Çeşm-i Bülbül glasses had been used as giftware and tableware for the Ottoman Banquets. Moirai lamps reinterprets this passing down of a cultural heritage (traditional glass blowing technique) as a new form language and functions as a lamp.
